Urban Studies Journal & the Urban China Research Network - Doctoral Student Essay Competition 2019
This year Urban Studies Journal (USJ) and the Urban China Research Network (UCRN) launched a doctoral student essay competition to promote emergent scholarship on urban China. The competition was open to doctoral students who had submitted papers to the UCRN conference in Nanjing in June 2019.
We are delighted to announce that the judges selected two papers as joint winners of the USJ/UCRN Doctoral Student Essay Competition 2019. Congratulations to:

- Zequn Tang (The State University of New York at Albany) for her paper, Holding a Share of “City Stock”? Second Home Ownership, Land Finance, and Entrepreneurship
Both winners will receive a £100 stipend. The winner and shortlisted candidates will also be offered mentoring to support the development of their paper towards journal submission.
