Urban ARC 2020: Equal Cities deadline extended

Urban ARC 2020: Equal Cities

The fourth edition of Urban ARC will be held from 16-18 January 2020. The conference theme this year is ‘Equal Cities’. Debates around equity in cities have engaged with a wide range of themes—questions of identity through the politics of race, or caste; issues of income inequality and poverty; the implication of and the relationship between emergence of new forms of work and employment in the Urban such as the ‘gig’ economy; spatial inequality; access to affordable housing; and segregated cities, to mention a few. Urban ARC 2020 aims to build on these debates, and provide a space to contest, deliberate and engage in conversations on how to make our cities more equitable.

Scholars and practitioners working on themes of equity in the Urban are encouraged to send in their abstracts by 9 November 2019, 11:59 pm IST (18:29 GMT). For more information on the theme and the application process, visit the Urban ARC website.
